Getting Started

My passion for helping women with their health began early. At just 9 years old, I was struck by a mysterious illness that left me debilitated—extreme muscle weakness, dry, cracking skin, and overwhelming fatigue. Sports were off the table, I had to quit dance, something I loved deeply, and some days, just getting to school felt like a huge challenge. My mom tirelessly sought help, taking me to numerous doctors over three years until I finally received a diagnosis: a rare autoimmune disease called Juvenile Dermatomyositis. (Try saying that five times fast!) The treatment involved high-dose corticosteroids, which helped my symptoms go into remission, though not without side effects—I was almost unrecognizable with a puffy face. That experience ignited in me a lifelong calling: to help relieve the suffering of others just as my doctors had helped me.

An Unexpected Turn

My desire to help others led me to the medical field. I earned my Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2011 and served as a pharmacist in the U.S. Army until 2017. Those years were transformative—building strength, deepening knowledge, and growing compassion for others in ways I could never have imagined. Serving in the military gave me a unique perspective on resilience and gratitude, qualities I believe are essential when caring for others.

After welcoming my second child in 2017, I transitioned from military service to work in community pharmacy. I enjoyed connecting with people, but I noticed a troubling pattern: despite many medications, few ever truly got better. Watching patients struggle to maintain even a decent quality of life made me question, “Is this really the best we can do?”

A New Path

Everything shifted for me in 2020. I discovered Functional Medicine and the powerful role gut health plays in overall wellbeing. I wondered why this wasn’t part of my pharmacy education. Facing some health challenges of my own—digestive issues, fatigue, skin problems, heavy painful periods, and infertility—I committed to healing holistically. I realized my definition of “normal” was far from optimal, and poor health had been quietly holding me back from fully enjoying life.

What I learned was eye-opening and impossible to ignore. I made the bold decision to leave retail pharmacy and pursue certification as a Functional Medicine practitioner, dedicating myself to helping others achieve true health.

Living with Purpose

Functional Medicine changed everything. I recognized how much work was still needed and took responsibility for my healing. As I saw my health improve, I knew my purpose was to walk alongside other women on their journeys—listening, planning, and working with them every step of the way. I’m not afraid to get in the trenches with you.
